Day 6 - Sunrise w/Mary, Chris' birthday breakfast, & sleep

Stipe saved the leftovers of the previous night's dinner for us,
which is our nourishment before we venture into the darkness...
..to climb Krisevac (Cross Mountain) at 2 am.
With flashlights, Fr. Slavko's Stations of the Cross prayers,
we start the climb up a rocky, steep path.Millions of pilgrims
have trod this path, leaving the stones smooth and slick.
The eyes of Mary were on us. She winked at us: A falling star.
Near the top, we rest where Fr. Slavko caught his breath...
before he breathed his last...
and was taken up to heaven.
A lone spider travels across its path-spanning web bridge.
How Mary suffered as she gathered up her Son into her arms.
Her pain. Her loss. Our healing. Our gain. Mahalo.
The last plaque before the cross.
The foot of the cross where Mary stands...
to greet...
the new day.
We are here as I promised her. We gather at her feet.
The 5 o'clock hour arrives...
and we pray The Most Holy Rosary with her.
We offer up our prayers through her.
Ma ka inoa o ke Akua, ke Keiki, a me ka 'Uhane Hemolele.
Look from left to right...
and across this picture too...
keep going...
and you have now experienced Mother Mary's panoramic view of ...
the valley and the world.
Other pilgrims make their way up to the cross.
A rosary and a cap to the soul who left Earth just the day
before as he climbed the mountain. We pray for his soul.
The morning light chases away the darkness...
and we take home visual memories to savor.
I take up my prayer group's petitions and add my own to hand...
to Mother Mary, as does t.
Sunrise at Krisevac with Mother Mary.
Our native American friends from Canada arrive, moments later.
I pray for our family, friends, those we serve & prayer group.
A brand new day...our day of conversion...
greeted with joy, peace, and love in her holy presence.
Peace...she is the Queen of Peace.
We kept our appointment with her. She showered us with graces.
Chris makes it to breakfast and his birthday!
Happy Birthday, dear Chriii- iiisss!
What a great bunch of pilgrims. We'll never forget them.
Lively conversations over hearty food and wine. Lots of laughs,
smiles, goodwill, prayer, and Aloha.
Yes, Aloha is alive and well in this remote place called ...
Medjugorje, where each is invited to share in Mother Mary's peace
and is sent home with spirits uplifted and rejoicing.
A night on the balcony, sleeping under the stars & M's mantle.
On this day, Our Lady lead us to her Son:

"I want to take you by the hand to walk with you the path of holiness!"~ Our Lady

History of Medjugorje:

"On June 24th, 1981, two young girls hiked up the mountain behind their house in search of sheep, in the small village of Medjugorje, in former Yugoslavia.

Suddenly they were overcome by a huge display of light and color, and the Virgin Mary appeared before them. Shocked and fearful, they ran back down the mountain to fetch their friends. Six youngsters then returned to the mountain where they witnessed the apparition once again. Medjugorje is in that part of Yugoslavia now called Bosnia-Hercegovina, a region destroyed by the civil war.

It is a miracle that the village itself is still intact, without doubt a sign of Maryâ??s continual presence, and of her message of peace. Pilgrims now come here from every corner of the globe. Vicka, one of the children to whom the Virgin appeared, still lives in one of the hamlets near Medjugorje, and several times a week she emerges from her home to address the pilgrims."

>> I've posted an entry about Krisevac, its history and significance, here.

On this day, God's grace touched the deepest parts of their lives: Our faith has been re-awakened. Our lives have been transformed. Our hope has been restored. Our relationships with those who have hurt us are being healed. The wonder of God's love -- through Mother Mary -- has done this...

I will write about this day when time allows it.
